Super Bowl Pool to benefit our local food banks sponsored by the Stratford Rotary Club. Food Banks are full during the holidays but are in need afterward, and this fundraiser will help keep their shelves stocked.  At the same time, it will be a fun experience, and you have a chance to win $$$. Free Tax Filing at South End Community Center, 19 Bates Street.  By an IRS certified Volunteer Tax Assistance (VITA) tax preparer. Saturday, February 10th at 6 p.m. “Boogie At The Brewery”, A Funky Fundraising Party on SUPERBOWL WEEKEND sponsored by Sterling House Community Center. Dress in your best football themed outfit! Enjoy local food, beers, wine, and cocktails from Two Roads Brewing and Arena Rock from The Band Central! Proceeds go to SHCC’s equitable programming. Your invited to ‘show up, get down and do good’ and support equitable access to great programs at SHCC in 2024 and beyond. Saturday, February 10th, Perry House, 1128 West Broad Street, join us with your little valentine at our annual, “Valentine’s Day Tea Party”! The afternoon will begin with games and then a luncheon including a variety of tea sandwiches, fruit cup, scones, munchkins, teas (and additional beverages) and sweets. There is also a Valentine craft and candy station! Seating is limited, so make sure you register to attend. Sunday, February 11th at 2 p.m. Redding author Gail Howard will discuss her memoir, White Wife/Blue Baby, which details her experiences marrying across the color line in the super-heated 1960s.  Howard will read excerpts, take questions and autograph copies of her book for purchase following the talk.

Monday, February 12th at noon, Lovell Room. RUSTIN.  In conjunction with __Black History Month”, the true story of Bayard Rustin (Coleman Domingo), a gay activist who planned the momentous March on Washington with Martin Luther King, Jr.  PG-13, 108 minutes

Wednesday, February 14th from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Stratford Town Hall. February is Heart Month – do your heart a favor attend the free screening.  Screening includes blood pressure, blood sugar, body mass index, and waist circumference.

Saturday, February 17th Pints for Paws in a Winter Wonderland from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.Two Roads Brewing Company.  Sponsored by: STARS (Stratford Animal Rescue Society).  For just $60.00 per ticket it includes two drink tickets (beer, wine, cocktail or hard seltzer), vegetarian buffet, dessert, pint glass, and a door prize raffle ticket for $100.00 in lotto tickets.  Vegan & GF options included.

Sunday, February 18th and Monday, February 19th, the Stratford Library, will be closed in observation of the Presidents’ Day holiday.  The library will reopen on Tuesday, February 20th at 10 a.m.  Current library hours are: Monday-Thursday: 10:00a.m.-8p.m., Friday-Saturday: 10a.m.-5p.m. and Sunday: 1p.m.-5p.m.
