State Representative Joe Gresko (D)
121st District

Dear Neighbor,

I wanted to bring to your attention an important announcement from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The EPA has made me aware that there will be blasting of bedrock at the end of Platt Street in Stratford. This is necessary for the ongoing construction of a new stormwater pump station.

For more detailed information, you can view the screenshot below. Blasting will begin Monday, August 21st. The blasting will run Monday through Friday with 1-2 blasts per day, for a total of 15-20 blasts over a 3-week period. All blasts will occur between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.

In addition to this announcement, I want to take the opportunity to provide some reminders for our community:

• The public comment period for the Proposed Plan for Operational Unit (OU) 5 – Shore Road is open and closes on Friday, September 8th.

• The public comment period for the Explanation of Significant Differences for OUs 4 and 6 opened on Wednesday, August 16th and closes on Wednesday, August 30th.

The next Community Advisory Group (CAG) meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, September 27th from 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m..
For detailed instructions on how to provide comments on either the Proposed Plan or Explanation of Significant Differences (ESD), as well as access to site updates and meeting information, please visit the EPA’s Raymark website.
