Goody Bassett’s Last Walk

On May 15th 1651 Goody Bassett took her last walk through the Stratford settlement to be hanged as a witch. The Stratford Historical will retrace that sorrowful path while recounting the state of affairs in Stratford in 1651, the events leading up to the sentencing of Goody Bassett, and the walk to the gallows.
The 1.5 mile walk (round trip) will begin and end at the Mac’s Harbor Marker, approximately 320 Shore Road, Stratford, CT. Parking is available on Shore Road and in the parking lot of Shakespeare Park.
The first walk will be on Wednesday, April 19th, the walk will begin at 6:30 p.m.

Wednesday, May 3rd, 7:00 p.m.
Wednesday, May 10th, 7:00 p.m.
Inclement weather dates will be the following Thursday at the same time.
