The Stratford Library will present the Nina Et cetera Band in a special concert entitled “The Real Elvis” on Sunday, April 30th at 2 p.m.  The band wowed Stratford audiences previously with their jazz concerts and musical tribute to Country Music superstar Maybelle Carter. The Elvis concert is free and open to the public.

Who was Elvis Presley? The Heartthrob? The Scandalous “Elvis the Pelvis”? The Movie Star? Or… a consummate musician who synthesized all the streams of American Music to create a sound unlike any other. At a special Library program, the Nina Et Cetera band will explore Elvis’s roots and branches in the Blues, Gospel, Country, Rock and Roll and the genre he defined, Rockabilly

Nina Romano began studying guitar and singing at the age of 7 with her current bass player Tim. When they are not on the road they are writing and recording in a manner that combines the best of old and new technologies. Nina Et Cetera has been performing professionally for the past 10 years in just about every imaginable venue across the Tri-State area and is greatly influenced by the likes of Bob Dylan, The Carter Family, Dusty Springfield, Aretha Franklin, Mahalia Jackson, Phil Spector, The Velvet Underground and countless other musical legends. When they are not on the road they are writing and recording in a manner that combines the best of old and new technologies.

“The Real Elvis” will take place in the Stratford Library Lovell Room from 2-3 pm on April 30.  Doors open at 1:30 pm for general seating.
