Senator Perillo received the “Friend of Early Childhood” award during a ceremony at the Stratford YMCA on Thursday morning, August 7th.
The award was given by the Connecticut Early Childhood Alliance (CECA) in recognition for the senator’s support of early childhood education, improving the affordability and accessibility of childcare, and advocating for the well-being of Connecticut families, including his vote in favor of Senate Bill 1, which provided additional funding and services for early childhood education.
In his remarks, Perillo expressed his gratitude for the award, and praised the work of the CECA. He also thanked the YMCA for hosting the ceremony, acknowledging all that the YMCA does for children, teens, and seniors, and its positive impact on the people of our community.
The Connecticut Early Childhood Alliance, a statewide organization, was founded in 2002 with the mission of improving outcomes in the areas of learning, health, and economic security for children ages birth to eight, and providing families and caregivers access to comprehensive support.
