March 1 – 31: Women’s Brag Board

Grades 6-12

Location: Teen Department

It’s Women’s History Month! Women and girls are awesome, and we want to celebrate you and all the women you are inspired by. Share your thoughts on the Women’s History Month Brag Board and there just might be a sweet reward! Everyone is invited to join by giving a shout out to the women who have inspired you.

March 3: 4:30-5:30 P.M.: Express Yourself: Let’s Taco About Stress

Grades 9-12

Location: Lovell Room

Registration is required

March 2nd is World Teen Mental Wellness Day. In honor of making sure we are taking care of ourselves, come by the library and let’s Taco about Stress. We will talk about good vs. bad stress. Refreshments provided.

March 11: 3:00-5:00 P.M.: K-pop Party

Grades 6-12

Location: Lovell Room

No registration required

Hang out and enjoy K-pop related activities with fellow fans. Watch music videos, listen to K-pop and dance, decorate top loaders, trade Lomo cards, and enjoy snacks….

March 14: 3:30-4:30 P.M.: Pie for Pi!

Grades 6-12

Location: Teen Department

No registration required

In honor of Pi Day, stop by the Teen Department and enjoy some pie. While you are here, challenge a friend by writing a math equation. Let’s see who can solve it!

March 17: 4:30-5:30 P.M.: Express Yourself: Shamrock Smash

Grades 9-12

Location: Lovell Room

Registration required

It’s a perfect day for a Shamrock Smash! Let’s enjoy mint flavored ice cream while playing some fun team building activities.

March 21: 3:00-4:30 P.M.: Teen Regression Session

Grades 6-12

Location: Teen Department

No registration required


Take a mental health break by relaxing in a care-free environment and act like a kid again! Play with blocks, finger paint, and enjoy juice boxes, cartoons, and a giant parachute. 


March 25: 3:30-4:30 P.M.: Teen Silent Book Club

Grades 6-12

Location: Board Room

No registration required

Enjoy reading whatever you choose in a quiet space with other teens and snacks. When everyone is finished there is the option to discuss what you’ve read…or not. Bring your favorite pillow or blanket to get comfy!

March 26: 6:30-8 P.M.: You Can Go to College: CT State Community Colleges

Grades: 6-12

Location:  Lovell Room

No registration required

Mr. Earl Graham, Dir. of Admissions at CT Community Colleges Housatonic will be here to explain the new merger of the state’s 12 community colleges, and how this can help you find the programs you are interested in. We’ll talk about applications and tuition, including the Free Tuition Program, & Credit Transfer. Teens & parents are invited to join us.

March 27: 4:00-5:30pm: It’s a Teacup Party!

Grades 6-12

Location: Lovell Room

It’s Women’s History Month and we are having a tea party. Bring your design ideas because we’ve got tea cups and sharpie paint pens and you get to design your own tea cup! Personalized tea cups can be ‘baked’, which will keep your art fresh for years. Keep your special cup or gift it to a phenomenal woman in your life. Of course, there will be some party snacks, including teacakes!

March 31: 4:30-5:30 P.M.: Express Yourself: Journal Decorating

Grades 9-12

Location: Lovell Room

Registration required

Looking for the best way to express yourself? Come by and decorate a journal while we discuss the benefits of putting your feelings on paper. Refreshments provided.
