Stratford Library

An exhibit of original artwork in a variety of mediums by Stratford artist Donna Osterby-Brien is the current exhibit at the Stratford Library.  The exhibit, entitled “Donna Osterby-Brien Art at the Library”, will be featured at the Library through June 2023.  It is free and open to the public.  The display is located in the Main Lobby of the Stratford Library

Donna Osterby-Brien has had a love affair with watercolor since studying at Parsons School of Design.  Though proficient with many other mediums, she has been told, “You shine brightly when using watercolor”.  “My approach to watercolor is to use a brush fully loaded with beautiful color.  It is, after all, WATER – COLOR.  I work hard to ‘tame this medium’ and allow its semi-transparent nature to really shine.”  She teaches Beginners Watercolor classes through the Arts Alliance of Stratford.  Her work tends to be representational, including portraits of houses, animals and people.  Osterby-Brien is a member of several local arts associations including Arts Alliance of Stratford, Black Rock Artist’s Guild and Artists Collective of Westport. She has won awards in juried exhibits and has had several solo shows in libraries, museums and other venues in the Tri-State area.

Viewing hours for “Donna Osterby-Brien Art at the Library” are: Monday-Thursday: 10-8 p.m., Friday-Saturday: 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sunday: 1-5 p.m.
