The Holiday 5K Run/Walk For Toys

THIS EVENT MAY BE REDUCED IN DISTANCE IF ROAD AND WEATHER CONDITIONS WARRANT IT FOR SAFETY.

Registration is a small fee and we ask that you donate at least one, new, unwrapped toy suitable for ages 1-16. Come dressed to run, stay for the fun! 

OUR COURSE IS IN THE LORDSHIP SECTION OF STRATFORD – IT IS SCENIC, TRANQUIL, and FLAT!

Long-sleeved T-shirts may be purchased ahead. There may be a limited amount available on race day.  This event DOES NOT have a makeup date if it is canceled due to severe weather, town or police orders. We are sorry but we have to pre-pay most of our vendors so there are no refunds.

Tykes for Toys Fun Run- 9 years & under

All abilities 5th grade and younger are encouraged to join us. This is a FREE event but we would appreciate a small toy donation. Adults can run with the kids to help prevent any drama or tears that might occur!  Donna Cramond will direct the Little Tykes!

Open to ages 1 – 10.

We will be collecting toys at the event that will be donated to the Dr. Thomas Kennedy Toy Closet by our 2024 Presenting Sponsors. They should be new, unwrapped, suitable for ages 1-16.

Last year these toys provided age-appropriate and educational toys for pediatric patients receiving care at The Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital at Bridgeport.

 IN YOUR SWAG Bag is a special Holiday Run mug !  After your run you can fill it up with a hot adult beverage from Little Pub & and crazy “Joliday Socks” for as many people as possible. (We did buy 250 of each).

Shirts can be purchased for $15 at bib pickup (if available) on site Saturday & Sunday. (exact cash / cheque only!)

SATURDAY 12/14– Please try to pickup early and avoid the Sunday stressful crunch.
9:00 – 11 a.m. Pickup at the LITTLE PUB- swag & bibs & goodies.  Don’t arrive earlier unless you’re feeding the seagulls – we will not be there. In addition, we are leaving promptly at 11 a.m.! There are games to watch!

Enjoy a 10% discount if you stay for brunch at Little Pub on Saturday- after 10am!

SUNDAY  12/15

7:45-9:25 a.m. Pickup across from the LITTLE PUB in the lot on the corner.

                 Look for the tent/containers.

9:15 a.m. The LITTLE TYKES RUN – Directed by DONNA CRAMOND as Executive Kids Race Director and former professional Cat Herder! The kids will run one tenth mile of sheer delight!

9:30 a.m. START  –  Dr. Thomas Kennedy Family – YaleNewHaven Health Bridgeport Hospital Foundation HOLIDAY 5k RUN / walk

(Please stay on the left of all roads on this easy, flat, scenic, out & back course) 

 When you’re done PLEASE stay and enjoy-

THE LITTLE PUB’s snacks and hot apple cider & hot chocolate (which you can add an ‘adult’ warming shot to!) We will also have hot chicken broth. Other snacks include chip bags, snack bars, bananas & more…

 Our host does it right for you! Look for warmed up, adult beverages!

 ATHLETIC BREW IS BACK! The #1 Non-alcohol craft brew that got its start in Stratford- and is now found worldwide. They will be giving out cans/samples to enjoy. 

Awards, prizes, edible items and/or crazy holiday gifts are given to the Male & Female Champions as well as TWO or maybe even three deep in age groups 9 & under, 10-12, 13-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80+ (and older if pre-registered)
