A Love Letter to Norah ~

The Editorial Board and the staff of the Stratford Crier want to express our thanks to Norah Pollard Christianson for two years of enlightening and entertaining us with her knowledge and love of poetry. She has made it more accessible to all of us.

We so deeply appreciate the time, care and thoughtfulness that went into choosing each poem and poet, and are grateful for the thoughts and interpretations that gave us a better understanding of the writing and the writer. Her wry and often hilarious comments freed us from thinking that poetry and poets are ‘beyond’ us, or belong to some stodgy, humorless, impersonal scholarship.

Those of us who went straight to Norah’s column as an antidote to the sometimes difficult news of the week will miss her. If you, too, are one of those, please leave us a note and let us know.
