Volunteer Affirmation

Share

Stratford Volunteer Corps

By Annmarie Winchell

I am a retired educator.  I taught Spanish to students in grades Pre-K-8 and was also an instructor in the Stratford Continuing Education program.  Seeking a volunteer activity, I attended an informational meeting of the Stratford Volunteer Corps and decided to join.

I was a tutor for a second-grade class at Nichols School.  I worked with students one-on-one with reading, math, and special projects.  It was a most enjoyable experience to once again connect with young students and to monitor their progress.

I look forward to returning in the fall.
