Project 2025: What’s at Stake

Share

Project 2025 is a proposal to reinvent our government. While Donald Trump has distanced himself from the plan, it was written by his close associates. This is part of our series intended to provide food for thought, and highlights how the plan would affect our lives.

A Healthy Planet and You

Do you take clean air and water for granted?

Most of us do. But, imagine a world where you have to wear an oxygen mask whenever you’re outside. Or a day when all our natural water sources are undrinkable. In some parts of the world, this is already a reality. Project 2025 wants to streamline government by cutting regulations, which could have dangerous consequences. Here are a few of their environmental goals.

  • Eliminate or weaken EPA standards that limit the amount of pollution allowed into our air and water.  [page 420]
  • Prioritize short-term economic gains in energy production over environmental sustainability.  [page 521]
  • Rollback emissions limits for cars and trucks, creating more air pollution, and more sickness. [page 628]
  • Build more roads and pipelines on protected lands, which will destroy wildlife and natural habitats, affecting our air and soil quality. [page308]
  • Increase drilling for oil and gas on public lands, where the destruction of natural resources will speed global warming. [page 521]
  • Remove protections for endangered species, which could cause important animal species to disappear forever. [page 534]

  1. RE: This POTUS45 disavowed doc

SC Editorial represents one-sided fear mongering at its best.

    THO…….It behooves open-minded populace to,

Fear not #1: RFK Jr, whatever his flaws = the most food, health & environmentally-conscious individuals who ever wore shoe-leather

    AND

Fear not #2: CT = as DEM/Blue-centric of a state as any within monolithically DEM ensconsed New England.
That is to say, for better or worse (akin to NYC), there exists ZERO chance that any of CT’s entrenched, decidedly non-purple Federal House ‘n Senate seats will shift back to historic GOP/Red-centric anytime soon!
