Saturday, 7 p.m. June 24th: Grill and Chill sponsored by First Congregational Church of Stratford.  Movie “BIG”, Burgers, Hot Dogs, all welcome.  Rain or Shine (if it rains all activities will move into church hall.)  Reservations are suggested. Monday, June 26th  from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m Holy Name food pantry is sponsored by the Connecticut Food Bank, the Stratford Department of Health, and the YMCA. The Food Bank takes place on every other Monday, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., and they are asking that cars line up on College Street. You are also asked to bring your own reusable bag.  There will be 1 bag per household distributed.  Please bring identification if a second household is in the car.

“Forest to Shore StoryWalk Tour”.  StoryWalk 2:  Monday June 26th- Tuesday,July 4th – Clover Field at Janosko Park.  Main Event: Meet the pilots from Avia Flight Academy on Tuesday, June 27th at 4 p.m. at Clover Field.  A StoryWalk is a book, with pages separated and laminated on wood stakes that are placed along a path or trail for people to walk and enjoy a story. The program is funded by a grant from the Connecticut State Library & Library Services and Technology Act.  The Tour features five StoryWalks each lasting about a week at various locations around Stratford. During the week of each StoryWalk there will be a “Main Event” program at the site. Topics will be relevant to the site.

Thursday, June 29th Covid 19 Clinic at the Stratford Health Department, 426 Birdseye Street.  Reservations required.  This is your chance to receive: 1st Moderna Bivalent Booster is available for ages 12+: 2nd Moderna Bivalent Booster is only available for 65+ who have received their 1st Bivalent at least 4 months ago. If Immunocompromised, you are eligible for 2nd Bivalent Booster if 1st Bivalent was 2 months ago.

Thursday, June 29th, 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. at Frank DeLuca Hall of Fame Field on Main street, Stratford Brakettes vs Stratford Fire Department.  All proceeds from this charity event goes to LivFree to fight pediatric cancer.  www.livefreetoday.org.

The Stratford Beautification Commission announces its 25th annual Beautification Awards Program. This is your opportunity to nominate properties you believe worthy of recognition. This year, the focus will be on front yards and the curb appeal of local properties. Neighborhood Breakfast at Stratford United Methodist Church, Saturday July 17th, free community breakfast 8:30-10:00 a.m. on the 3rd Saturday of each month: July 17th and August 19th.  They offer hot food and community for those in need.  Enter through the back of the church.  Enjoy a meal and visit the thrift shop, which has affordable clothing, toys, and household items.
