Find yourself in PARADISE every Monday afternoon!

Paradise Green Farmers Market Opens on Monday!!!

2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The Paradise Green Farmers’ Market returns this year on Monday June 12th! Friends and families will once again be able to enjoy the fruits (and vegetables) of CT farmers’ labor every Monday from 2 p.m. – 6 p.m. through October.

Situated in the heart of Stratford on Paradise Green, the market will pick up anew.  Located at 121 Huntington Avenue, your best bet for parking will be at our friends The Stratford Baptist Church.  The Town of Stratford and the Church have collaborated to provide nearly 50 parking spaces conveniently located at 40 Park Street, directly across from the Green near the Gazebo.

Gazy Brothers Farm will be back with their amazing vegetable display.  Eaglewood Farms is back with beef, pork and eggs.  Dash ‘n Drizzle is back again with flavored oils, balsamic vinegars, spices and salts. nOURishBridgeport Hydroponic Farm will be there too with fresh grown organic greens grown right here in Stratford!

Oronoque Farms returns again this year with their famous pies, donuts and a host of CT made products! And Bake Bake Hooray returns in their newly deployed mobile bakery!  You heard that right!  They will be serving fresh baked cookies right from the trailer every Monday afternoon!  Wash that sweetness down with a gulp of their hot or cold coffee made from fresh roasted beans.  Don’t want to get all hopped up on coffee in the afternoon?  Try one of their refreshing drinks or grab a bag of beans and bring them home for the week!

Saint X Foods – FAMOUS for their pesto mozzarella sandwiches, baked goods and other treats is a newcomer to Stratford.  And maybe most incredible of all is they are carrying WAVE HILL Breads too!  One of the most extraordinary bakers in the state will have a sampling of their goods waiting for you every Monday.  Get there early – they frequently sell out.

These folks and more will be there on Monday so come on down and spend some time with us.  A rotating list of crafters and confectioners will join the crew this year.  Different and surprising vendors will be coming and going to keep each visit to the market fresh and new.

This year, it is not just about the Farmers’ Market either.  It’s about shaking off the winter and getting out again.  Right across the street there are a wonderful array of retailers to visit.  Many are new as well.  We are teaming up to give you the best reason to GET OUT OF THE HOUSE and spend some casual time walking around town and seeing one another again.  Who knows who you will bump into.

So if coffee is not your thing at all check out Kasia and her Open Door Tea there all week long.  Have you seen the expansion of the dining area in her store!  She’s doubled down on Stratford and DOUBLED this size of her space.  Inside you’ll see the difference between a small business vision and franchise factory. Kasia left room for a great variety of CT made items and products as well from local vendors as well! And if all that is not good enough for ya, wait til July, they will be out on the Green with us!

Now, If pesto mozzarella is not your thing, visit Angela at Subway and she will make you whatever you like with a smile. Franchise owners are small business people as well.  Not finding your favorite baked good?  Check out Icing on the Cake – a Stratford institution open 7 days a week!  They have got the full array!  And if Eaglewood Farms’ duck eggs don’t strike your fancy, take a seat at The Sitting Duck and order as you please!

Stratford has the whole enchilada so you better come hungry and bring a BIG BAG to lug it all home with.  We are all in this together, so get out there and come together!  It’s just another day in Paradise every Monday afternoon.

So another year has gone by and you’ll find the market the same small town treasure it’s been in the past, but one thing will never be the same.  Kevin Anstett, of Eaglewood Farms, sadly passed away Christmas Day last year.  The market will always remember Kevin and his kind smile, thoughtful words, and gentle nature.  Rest in peace Kevin.  We are so grateful for everything you did for our community.
