Free Monthly Screenings of Popular Films Beginning September 13th

Stratford Public Library
The Stratford Library returns with its popular film series through 2021. The series offers free showings of recent, popular films shown uncut and on widescreen each month. Patrons must be masked and socially distanced. Screenings begin at noon – 2 p.m.
PARASITE: September 13th
The first foreign film to ever win both the “Best Picture” and “Best International Film” Oscars, this Korean masterpiece concerns a struggling family who insinuate themselves into a wealthy couple’s home with both comic and devastating results. R, 132 minutes
A QUIET PLACE 2: October 11th
In this sequel to the hit horror thriller from 2019 a family must navigate their lives in silence after mysterious creatures that hunt by sound threaten their survival. Director John Krasinski continues this exciting story as a mom (Emily Blunt) and her teenage children learn how to fight and survive the monsters. Special for Halloween! PG-13, 97 minutes
MA RAINEY’S BLACK BOTTOM: November 8th
Notable as the last feature film of Chadwick Boseman (who was Oscar nominated for this role), this film adaptation of August Wilson’s celebrated play takes place in 1920s Chicago where singer Ma Rainey (the great Viola Davis) and her troupe attempt to record a new album. R, 94 minutes
MINARI : December 13th
A tender and sweeping story that follows a Korean-American family that moves to a tiny Arkansas farm in search of their own American Dream. The family home changes completely with the arrival of their sly, foul-mouthed, but incredibly loving grandmother (Oscar winner Youn Yuh-jung). PG-13, 115 minutes
