Stratford’s group bicycle rides, sponsored by the Stratford Housatonic Greenway and the Stratford Recreation Department, will resume June 1st in conjunction with Stratford’s Main Street Festival.

While you’re enjoying the festival, be sure to visit our booth that includes current Complete Streets maps showing the Main Street & Elm Street extensions being constructed, and free walking maps covering 10 Stratford neighborhoods…likely including yours!

  • At 4:30pm, riders will assemble at the Shakespeare Park on Shore Road depart for a ride that will journey to Short Beach, Long Beach and the Sea Wall, then return to Shakespeare Park in a mostly level loop.
  • Route maps available at our booth or on our Facebook page: bit.ly/SHGCycling
  • Bring water and check the air pressure of your tires.
  • Helmets are recommended for all, but required for riders 16 or younger.
  • You will be required to sign a waiver.
  • Everyone is welcome. Not a power rider? No worries. Choose a 5, 8, 10 or 12 mile route. The full ride should last about two hours.

At the Main Street festival, we will again sponsor a Bicycle Corral where you can safely drop off your bike, enjoy the festival – and avoid the usual traffic congestion. Look for us the corner of Main St. and West Broad, across from St. James Church.

Hope you can join us! We will be posting the master schedule and any updates here on our Facebook page:Stratford Housatonic Greenway | Facebook
