Thursday, May 1: 3:00-4:30 P.M.: Homeschoolers Meet-Up

Grades 6-12. Registration is required.

This is a meet-up for tween and teen homeschoolers to connect. Enjoy an hour in the Teen Department to talk, play games or read some books.

Monday, May 5: 3-4:30 P.M.: Cinco de Mayo Drop-in Craft

Grades 6-12. No registration required.

Stop by the Teen Department to celebrate Cinco de Mayo! We’ll make a craft, play music, and eat some snacks while learning about this Mexican celebration.

Thursday, May 8: 3:30-4:30 P.M.: Volunteer Open House

Grades 8-13. Students must have completed 7th grade to be considered.

The 2025 Summer Volunteer Open House is coming soon! Mark your calendar now if you are interested in learning more about volunteering in the Children’s, Teen &/or uCreate Department this summer. The meeting will cover applications, registrations, responsibilities, & schedules. Teen & uCreate applications will be accepted between 5/8 & 5/22 to be considered. Children’s will accept applications until 5/30. Check out www.stratfordlibrary.org/voluneer for more information.Space is limited. No late applications will be accepted. Location: Board Room.

Thursday, May 8: 4:00-5:30 P.M.: Cake Pop Fun!

Grades 6-12. Registration Required.

Are you ready for some Cake Pop Fun? Let’s work together to create these sweet treats which we then get to eat. In honor of Mother’s Day, take the time to make one for a special woman in your life. Location: Lovell Room.

Thursday, May 12: 4:30-5:30 P.M.: Express Yourself: The Singing Bowl Experience

Grades 8-12. Registration Required.

This truly unique offering combines the history and education about singing bowls with practical hands-on experience playing them. We begin this hour-long experience with a lecture on the history of singing bowls, focusing on Tibetan lineage and a brief discussion on how sound healing works. Ample time will be given for questions! We spend our remaining time together with a lesson on playing singing bowls and finish with a short singing bowl meditation while we all play together. Location: Lovell Room.

Sunday, May 18: 3:30-4:30 P.M.: Stress ReDUCKtion

Grades 6-12. No registration required. 

May is Mental Health Awareness Month. Let’s reduce some stress by painting our own giant rubber duckies! We’ll supply all the materials and snacks. Location: Teen Department.

Tuesday, May 20: 4:00-6:00 P.M.: Kindness Hour Special Event

 All Ages. No registration required.

The Bunnell High School Kinder Connect Club & Stratford Library Teen Department are teaming up to spread a little KINDNESS! You are invited to bring small toys, coloring/activity books, stress balls and pop-toys to fill our gift baskets. We will be making cards & packaging up gift baskets to be delivered to children at Yale New Haven Hospital. If you can’t join us you can drop off items anytime at the Teen Desk. Kinder Connect Club works with Letters for Destiny providing opportunities to spread kindness to hospitalized children. Please join us.
