A week-long summer program for children entering grades 1 – 5.

History Adventures Programs

Monday: Colonial Trades

  • 10:30 a.m. – 11:15.a.m.: Butter Churning/Tin Smithing 
  • 11:15.a.m. – 12:00.p.m.: Soap Making 
  • 1:00.p.m. – 2:30.p.m: Weaving Looms and Baskets 

Tuesday: Leisure 

  • 10:30.a.m. – 11:15 a.m.: Duck Decoys (using modeling clay)
  • 11:15.a.m. – 12:00 p.m.: Music
  • 1:00.p.m. – 1:45 p.m.: Duck Pin Bowling (making mini bowling sets)
  • 1:45.p.m. – 2:30 p.m.: Winter Activities (snowball fight, ice skating) 

Wednesday: Shakespeare Theater 

  • 10:30 a.m. – 11:15 a.m.: Create a Story (using story cubes)
  • 11:15.a.m. – 12:00 p.m.: Write scripts/assign parts
  • 1:00.p.m. – 2:30 p.m.: Puppets and Scenery 

Thursday: Housatonic River and Long Island Sound

  • 10:30 a.m. – 11:15 a.m.: Walking tour to Bonds Dock
  • 11:15 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.: Robert Treat drawings 
  • 1:00 p.m. – 1:45 p.m.: Espionage on the sound (invisible ink, codes)
  • 1:45 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.: Oystering/Native Americans/Light House/Moses Wheeler 

Friday: Flight and Industry

  • 10:30 a.m. – 11:15 a.m.: Make an airport
  • 11:15 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.: Helicopters/cars
  • 1:00 p.m. – 1:45 p.m.: Airplanes/super loopers 
  • 1:45 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.: Rockets 

Pricing:  $150 for members, $190 for non-members
