Share

Rose Tanucci Pantano Pimpinelli, age 99, of Stratford, entered into eternal rest on October 27, 2023, in her residence, with her loving family by her side. Born in Paterson, New Jersey. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Loscuito Tanucci. She resided in Paterson, prior to moving to Stratford, where she has been a Stratford resident since 1944.

She was the beloved wife of the late Salvatore Pimpinelli for 30 years, whom she dearly loved. Rose and Salvatore travelled many places abroad and within the United States, until his passing in 1996.

Prior to her marriage to Peter Pantano, she was employed by Chance-Vaught and General Electric. While at Chance-Vaught, she riveted aircraft wings during World War II and was affectionately called “Rosie the Riveter”. She founded the ABC Child Care Center in Stratford in 1964, a pioneer in child care, which is still in the family.

Rose felt her family was her greatest gift and will be missed by her family immensely.  The beloved wife of the late Peter Pantano, for 16 years, is survived by her two loving sons, Robert Pantano and wife, Jane of Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina and Richard Pantano of Stratford, her five loving grandchildren, Mark Pantano and wife, Laura, Eric Pantano and wife, Melanie, Kristin Malaer and husband, Bobby, David Prussin and Kaitlyn Prussin, eight great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Rose was also predeceased by her daughter, Michele Prussin and one brother, Frank Tanucci.

Funeral services were held on Thursday at Our Lady of Grace Church. Interment was at St. Michael’s Cemetery.

The family wishes to thank the staff and caregivers at Bridgeport Hospital for their kindness to Rose. In lieu of flowers, those who so desire, may contribute in Rose’s memory to Our Lady of Grace Parish, 297 Second Hill Lane, Stratford, 06614.
