A Celebration of Black Artists
The Alliance’s upcoming show and sale will celebrate the work of local Black artists in Fairfield and New Haven counties.
“We’re excited to honor Martin Luther King’s birthday with our newest show and sale, Through Our Eyes: A Celebration of Local Black Artists, curated by artist Willie Scaife, our long-time member and supporter.” said Mark Hannon, President.
First, second, and third prize certificates will be awarded (non cash, just bragging rights) as well as a “People’s Choice,” selected by visitors to the gallery by ballot. The artist who wins the People’s Choice vote will have their submission fees waived for the next show.
“Artists of all disciplines are invited to submit 1-2 pieces of their work for review. Not limited to the visual arts, anyone in the community is welcome to submit. Dancers, writers, poets, storytellers, photographers, digital artists and other creatives are invited to part of the show and sale,” Hannon said.
All prevailing CDC Covid-19 protocols will be observed and posted outside the gallery. Masks will be required inside our gallery.
The opening reception is Monday, January 17th from 5-7 p.m.at Sterling House. The show and sale will run through February 18th.
